    This painting ‘Stillness’ is from a series of paintings exploring abstraction in the water's surface.

    A deliberately limited palette allowed for interesting exploration of shapes and tonal value. Focusing on blues, I tried to enhance a calm, floating feeling. Colour is my language but I find contrast so powerful. My daughter helped me name this one - she looked at it and said it felt like time was standing still.
